Max Konopatzke is a multidisciplinary artist and designer. For the past two decades he has developed a passion for painting, drawing, printmaking and graphic design. His works range from small “bite-size” to large-scale installations and large paintings. Recently, a large part of his process is combining digital and analog methods. Much of his work takes inspiration from the human form and the process of trial-and-error. The spontaneous energy resonates throughout all forms of his work.
Outside of the studio, Max has worked side-by-side with local companies, from a brewery in the Montana mountains to a door manufacturing company in the woods. His work and efforts have helped them with rebranding and logo design. On top of that, he has helped in the art department of the Great Northern Brewery. There he helped design an array of products with innovative artwork that brought a fresh spark to the brand.
He has shown work throughout the United States in Montana, Washington, Oregon, California and Texas. He has also exhibited work in Prague, Barcelona and Paris. The spontaneity of travel and adventure has shaped his work and helped grow the process of creation.
Along with his passion for art, he has love for snowboarding and skateboarding. Since he was a child he has had a board under his feet. It’s through the snowboarding and skateboarding communities where his artwork has flourished. The “just go for it” mentality breathes heavy in his process, as well in his riding.
